Katthult, which is actually called Gibberyd, is located in Sm\u00e5land and has become a popular destination for anyone wanting to relive their favorite moments from the films. Perhaps it\u2019s the familiar feeling of seeing the locations from the big screen in real life that fascinates the most? Or the knowledge that famous actors have walked here.<\/p>\n\n<p>When you arrive at Katthult, you are immediately greeted by the classic red house with white corners \u2013 a typical Sm\u00e5land house. This is where Emil\u2019s father, Anton, rushed out from the small kitchen entrance and shouted, \u201cDamn child!\u201d \u2013 a scene that has become iconic. This is where Emil was locked up after causing mischief, and it&#8217;s also where he sat carving his wooden figures. Visitors now have the chance to step inside the carpenter\u2019s shed and experience the place where many of Emil\u2019s adventures took place. It\u2019s also a perfect spot for a selfie \u2013 imagine yourself in front of the shed, pretending to be Emil for a moment!<\/p>\n\n<p>In addition to the carpenter&#8217;s shed, there is also the famous flagpole, where Emil lifted his little sister Ida. This scene, where Ida hangs high up in the flagpole wearing her red dress and white apron, is one of the most memorable in the films. This makes Katthult a perfect destination for families who want to experience <a href=\"https:\/\/astridlindgrensvarld.se\/\">Astrid Lindgren&#8217;s world<\/a> up close. The farm is privately owned, but visitors are welcome to stroll through the garden, visit the carpenter\u2019s shed, and check out the small souvenir shop where you can buy mementos from your visit.<\/p>\n\n<p>If you need a break, you can enjoy a cup of coffee or an ice cream and really let the atmosphere sink in. Perhaps you\u2019ll feel a little like Emil, Ida, Alfred, or Lina as you wander around the familiar surroundings. Although the indoor scenes from the Emil films were filmed at other locations under Olle Hellbom&#8217;s direction, Katthult still offers an authentic and enchanting experience for all visitors.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Film Village in Mariannelund \u2013 an extra experience<\/h3>\n\n<p>When you&#8217;re in Katthult, be sure to visit the <a href=\"https:\/\/filmbyn.se\/en\/\">Film Village in Mariannelund.<\/a> Here, you\u2019ll find a collection of props from the Emil films, and you can even stick your head into the famous soup bowl from one of the most iconic scenes.
